Q#40 - MASS SHOOTINGS

Question #40: How do we stop mass shootings?

This is a multifaceted issue. We need to address all aspects of this situation and discuss this problem as such. We need to take preventative measures.

Mass shootings are incidents involving multiple victims of firearm-related violence. One definition is an act of public firearm violence—excluding gang killings, domestic violence, or terrorist acts sponsored by an organization—in which a shooter kills at least four victims.. Using a similar definition, The Washington Post records 163 mass shootings in the United States between 1967 and June 2019.

We need to actually define what mass shootings are. The definitions vary: a mass shooting is - firearm violence resulting in at least four people being shot at roughly the same time and location, excluding the perpetrator - excluding gang violence?

Mass shootings accounted for less than two-tenths of 1% (0.2%) of homicides in the United States between 2000 and 2016.

We need to address several factors including but not limited to:
1. Mental Health
2. Pharmacticual Drugs/Psychotropic Drugs
3. Education
4. Gun Education- safety-regulations-red flag-2nd Amendment.
5. Safety
6… and the unforeseen…

When in office I want to have team-focus meetings that allow us to discuss all aspects of this situation so we can come up with new multifaceted ways to create preventative measures to end mass shootings. I want to work directly with those directly impacted to get their feedback and hear their suggestions.

I am running for office to be the change I want to see. Thank you for your support and VOTE#VoteWisdom4Congress

“The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. The former will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce; with which last the power of taxation will, for the most part, be connected. The powers reserved to the several States will extend to all the objects which, in the ordinary course of affairs, concern the lives, liberties, and properties of the people, and the internal order, improvement, and prosperity of the State.” James Madison, Federalist Paper #45
